Cal lost their Homecoming Match to Stanford by 1 point (26-27) in the final minute of the game on Saturday, Feb. 7th on Witter Field. Leading 26-24 and facing Stanford near the Cal 22, the Bears committed back-to-back penalties with seconds to play, resulting in a penalty kick to Stanford. Cal Defeats Chico State, Leads PMRC West

Cal defeated Chico State Womens Rugby on Saturday, January 24th, 35-10 on Witter Field in beautiful January weather. Captain Jessica Lewis, in a new role this season as Scrumhalf, scored the first try with definitive reads in defensive traffic. Flyhalf Kelly Doran answered with another try after a score from Chico’s Flyhalf to bring it to 10-5 Cal at the half. Cal sweeps 7s Qualifier at Oregon State; Headed to 7s Nationals

Cal Women’s Rugby traveled to Corvalis, Oregon to participate in a USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Regional Qualifier on Saturday, Oct. 18th, 2014. Cal Women clearly dominated with a 4-0 performance, beating Washington State University, Oregon State University, and Central Washington University 31-20 in the final. Cal Loses to BYU (59-0) at Round of 16 Nationals

April 28th, 2014 Cal faced a strong and disciplined BYU Cougars team in the USA Rugby Round of 16 Collegiate D1 National Championships on Friday, April 25th, losing 59-0. Cal could find no space to score and lagged defensively against the bigger BYU back line. Cal Goes 2-0 at PMRC Playoffs, Moves on to Nationals

On Day 1 of the Pacific Mountain Rugby Conference Playoffs, Pacific Pool, Cal beat Oregon State 69-7.  This earned Cal the chance to Play Washington State, the 2013 USA Rugby Women’s D2 Collegiate Champions.  The match was much closer, and Cal came out on top 22-13.  See a recap of both matches here.
