Despite a tough league season this year, Cal Women’s Rugby has made it to the playoffs! The team will face UC San Diego this Saturday, March 26th. The UCSD Tritons are sure to give Cal a great match, as they’ve gone 10-0 in their PMCR South league this season.

Head Coach Mari Triplett, started her rugby career as an undergraduate at UCSD and is excited to return to her old home pitch for the playoff match. “While I have fond memories of my time at UC San Diego” Triplett said, “There’s no question that my loyalties and support are 100% behind the Bears this weekend”. Backs coach, Sarah Davis, is also a UCSD alum. When asked about the upcoming match against her alma mater, Davis quipped “I’m pumped to return to the old stomping ground to root for the BEARS!”

The team would love to have alumni and any other supporters on the sidelines to cheer them on. The match will kick off at 11am on Saturday, 3/26 on Warren West Field nearest the intersection of Voigt Drive and Gilman Drive. The closest parking lot is P510, and no dogs, alcohol, or smoking is permitted at the field. Campus map HERE.

The winner of the match will advance to the USA Rugby D1 Spring Regional Playoff event at UC Davis April 8-10.
